Introduction
On Saturday, August 30, 2025, the Amahoro Coalition, in partnership with Samaritan Angels and with the support of the Ghana Refugee Board and Challenges Ghana, hosted the Refugee Football Scouting Tournament at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.
This initiative was more than a sports event. It was a platform for inclusion, youth development, and future opportunities for refugees living in Ghana. Through football, the tournament aims to uncover talent, create livelihood pathways, and bridge communities. Yet, without the right visibility and communication strategy, such a powerful initiative risks being overlooked. That’s where Yadaba Communications comes in.
The Challenge
Refugee-focused initiatives often face two communication hurdles:
1. Visibility gap – While the impact is significant, the public, media, and corporate partners may remain unaware.
2. Sustainability of attention – Events make noise for a day, but without a structured communication plan, they quickly fade from memory.
For organizations investing time and resources in meaningful causes, this lack of visibility means reduced impact, limited recognition, and missed partnership opportunities.
The Solution: Strategic Communications
Yadaba Communications was invited to support communications for the Refugee Football Scouting Tournament. Our approach is not just about coverage, it’s about building narratives that inspire action.
Here’s how agencies like Yadaba add value:
• Media positioning: Ensuring the right journalists and outlets cover the event to reach target audiences.
• Compelling storytelling: Moving beyond event recaps to spotlight the personal journeys of young refugee players.
• Stakeholder visibility: Highlighting the contributions of partners such as Amahoro Coalition, Samaritan Angels, and the Ghana Refugee Board to reinforce their leadership in social impact.
• Long-term narrative building: Framing the event as part of a bigger story of inclusion and opportunity, not just a one-off match.
The Impact (Why This Matters)
Strategic communication transforms an event into a movement. For the Refugee Football Scouting Tournament, the benefits are clear:
• For refugees: Talent is recognized, and opportunities for career advancement are amplified.
• For organizers: Credibility and visibility grow, opening doors to sponsorships and partnerships.
• For corporate partners: Their involvement is showcased in meaningful ways that align with CSR objectives.
• For society: The message of inclusion and opportunity spreads beyond the football pitch, influencing perceptions and policies.
Why Companies Should Care
In today’s interconnected world, businesses cannot afford to support causes silently. Strategic communications is what turns corporate responsibility into corporate leadership.
Companies that invest in initiatives like this must also invest in telling their story, because visibility drives influence, and influence attracts new opportunities. Yadaba ensures that every partnership is not just impactful but also recognized and remembered.
At Yadaba Communications, we believe every initiative deserves a voice that carries far beyond the moment. The Refugee Football Scouting Tournament is proof that with the right strategy, a single event can spark lasting change. Let’s help your organization transform impact into influence. Together, we can build narratives that inspire action, attract stakeholders, and create sustainable visibility.
